Fundraising FAQs
Can I fundraise at any time of year?
Absolutely! You can fundraise whenever it suits you. We also have key campaigns like Move Your Butt in February and Bowel Cancer Awareness Month in June that you may like to get involved in.
Why do I need to register my fundraiser?
Registering your fundraiser with Bowel Cancer NZ lets us know you’re fundraising and means we can confirm to anyone who asks that your efforts are officially supporting our cause. It also allows us to provide guidance, resources, and support throughout your campaign.
Why do I need an online fundraising page?
Your online fundraising page makes it easy to collect donations and share your campaign with supporters. You can send a link, display it at your event, or share it on social media. Donations are processed securely, donors get an instant receipt, and the funds are automatically recorded on your page. You’ll also receive notifications each time someone donates, so you can celebrate every contribution along the way.
How do I collect donations?
You can collect donations through your fundraising page or offline and bank them into our account. Email us at fundraising@bowelcancernz.org.nz for bank details.
How do I give my donors a receipt?
The easiest way is to encourage your supporters to donate through your online fundraising page — they’ll automatically receive a receipt. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to provide individual receipts for offline donations.
Can I fundraise as a team or group?
Definitely! Team fundraising is a great way to combine efforts, share the workload, and reach your goal faster. You can create a team page for your group, or have team members set up their own pages under the team to boost your collective impact.
How do I personalise my fundraising page?
Log into your account and select Edit Page. From there, you can update your image, text, video, and fundraising target to make your page uniquely yours and inspire your supporters.
What happens if I need a donation to be refunded?
If a donation was made by mistake, please get in touch via email or call 0800 226 901 with the details and reason for the refund. Please note that we cannot refund donations from an event that was cancelled by the organiser.
